Typing on the K71R-PRO is a tactile delight, thanks to the factory-applied lubricant on the iRocks proprietary switches. The inclusion of internal sound-absorbing foam effectively mitigates the pinging sounds often found in stock mechanical boards, resulting in a deeper, more professional sound profile. The smart knob is a standout feature, providing tactile feedback that makes adjusting system volume or zooming in on documents feel natural and precise.
Compared to entry-level mechanical keyboards, the K71R-PRO offers a significantly more robust build quality and a more refined typing experience. While many competitors rely on standard ABS keycaps, the iRocks model utilizes PBT double-shot keycaps, which resist shine and wear over time. Furthermore, the tri-mode connectivity provides a level of versatility that fixed-cable keyboards cannot match, allowing for a cleaner desk aesthetic without sacrificing performance.
- Does the K71R-PRO support hot-swappable switches? No, the switches are fixed and not designed for hot-swapping.
- Can I use this keyboard with macOS? Yes, the keyboard supports both Windows and macOS layouts with easy system switching.
- How long does the battery last with RGB lighting on? With RGB at full brightness, the battery lasts approximately 21 hours.
- Does it come with software for customization? Yes, iRocks provides driver software for customizing RGB lighting effects and macro assignments.
- What is the difference between the switch options? The Milk Tea switch is tactile, the Berry Red is linear, and the Silent Milk Tea is a tactile switch optimized for low-noise environments.
